Sibsadhan Chatterjee and Namita Chatterjee lives in City Center, Durgapur. They both grew up in the Purulia district. In their retirement they have taken up the cause of providing financial and other support to a number of social organizations. Particularly those which are working for the deprived people in their own city Durgapur and in rural regions of Purulia district. Sohojia is fortunate to have them not only as our board member, but also in our executive committee. Sibsadhan Chatterjee also serves as the treasurer of Sohojia Foundation. Their early and continued financial support was vital for inception of the Sokaler Pathshala project in Bandwan which is now a chapter of Sohojia Foundation.
Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami is presently serving as a Pro-Vice Chancellor (Start-Up, Innovation, and Incubation) with a special assignment in Strategy Planning and Implementation at the School of Engineering and Technology, Adamas University. Prior to joining Adamas University, Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami was associated with organizations like Techno International New Town (Techno India Group) and the renowned Birla Institute of Technology (Deemed University) in Mesra Ranchi. Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami is an experienced professional with a sound background in Academic, Research, and Administration. His areas of expertise include Network Security, Big Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Cryptography, and Bioinformatics. On the education front, he holds a PhD in Technology, a DLitt, and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami maintains interests in Sports, Drama, Music, Networking, and social assistance for the needy.
Abhijit Kundu, currently aged 63, previously held positions as an adjunct professor of Environmental Management and Geoinformatics at Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra), Kolkata Campus, and as a full-time scientific consultant for Disaster Management at CDC, Jadavpur University. He now serves as a consultant in Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, and has strong affiliations with various governmental organizations and NGOs, such as NABARD, WBSRLM, PAMCL, and CINI, where he focuses on supporting Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Cooperatives.
As a founding member of Sirjan Farm, he is dedicated to Natural Farming Methods and Community Development. Abhijit holds a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Geology from Calcutta University, a Postgraduate degree in Ecology and Environment from Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical, and Technological Sciences. He has also completed professional training programs at the National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, and the Bankers Institute of Rural Development, both under the Government of India.
Mousumi Saha is currently a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, West Bengal, India. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, in 2017. Her team has multiple projects funded by TCS, IMPRINT INDIA, etc. She grew up in Durgapur, in Paschim Bardhaman. She is also a very good dancer. She also serves as the Treasurer of Sohojia Foundation. Mousumi Saha's unwavering dedication and support have been instrumental in propelling this foundation toward success. Her knowledge and financial assistance have not only sustained the foundation but have also allowed it to flourish and reach new heights.
Srabani Mukhopadhyaya is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology Meshra (Lalpur), India. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, in 1997. Her academic journey also includes a Post Doctoral Associate position with Professor Sartaj Sahni of CISE Dept., University of Florida, Gainesville, where she contributed to the development of Parallel Algorithms in 1999. She further honed her skills as a Research Associate in the Advanced Computing and Microelectronics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata from 1999-2004.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Srabani Mukhopadhyaya is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She teaches mathematics to the volunteers of the support centers in Sohojia Foundation, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to education and empowerment. Her tireless efforts have not only sustained the foundation but have also propelled it towards greater success. Her contributions, both in knowledge and financial assistance, have been pivotal in enabling the foundation to flourish and reach new heights.
Saikat Sen is a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Burdwan. He is working as and assistant teacher and Head of the institution in a Junior High School in the district Purulia. Belonging from an interior village of the remote part of Purulia he understands the problems and difficulties of grass root education. He has noticed that almost all guardians has zero conciousnes about the education of their children. To make study a habit in the morning, he established a free morning school in the village Krishnapur with the help of local village club and school authority. This free school Sokaler Pathshala is now a part of Sohojia Foundation and it continues to spread education and make it a habit.
Debasis Mitra, currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal, India, began his journey at NIT Durgapur in 2010 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to his tenure at NIT Durgapur, from 2006 to 2008, he served as a Lecturer at the Birla Institute of Technology, Kolkata Extension Center. His professional journey also includes a stint from 2003 to 2006 as a Project-linked researcher in the ACM Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. Jaydeep Howlader presently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal, India since November 2002.
