Sujoy Saha is presently a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal, India. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur in 2015. His team has multiple projects funded by TCS, SAMSUNG, IMPRINT INDIA, DST West Bengal, Media Lab Asia, etc. His research team has also developed several prototypes for Post-Disaster Management System, Environment Monitoring System, Rural Telemedicine System, Gestures for Assistive Living, etc. Sujoy also has a passion for art and music. His ancestors hail from Paschim Medinipur.
Biplab Chattopadhyay lives in California, USA with his son Imaan, who aspires to be a scientist, and wife Saswati, who is a published poet and has quite a few US patents to her credit. Biplab works as a senior engineering leader in a San Francisco based technology company. Biplab's ancestors hail from the district of Purulia. Naturally he has deep connection to the land. Biplab also has a passion for art and co-founded the institute Indian American Artists Association (IAAA) in the USA.
Sujoy and Biplab met when they were engineering students as they studied Computer Science in the same institution. After that they both took their own career paths. Sujoy staying with academics and Biplab getting into the industry. But they always kept in close touch. In 2020 they started building a rural education project together which finally took the form of Sohojia Foundation.
