Have you ever thought how many Aryabhatas and Abdul Kalams are loading bricks on the side of the road and selling tea skipping school?
We will bring scientific thinking/knowledge, quality education and creative perspective to deprived rural sections and use that as medium to uplift rural living conditions.
We are a community who care about the lack of access to scientific thinking and education for the kids in remote rural areas, and its increasing detrimental affects in those societies. We, in Sohojia Foundation, are determined to change that. We are focusing on the rural districts of West Bengal, India.
On 25th of December we had our first Annual Sohojia Event. Our two chapters Sokaler Pathshala (Bandwan) and Amader Pathshala (Sirjan) both participated. The sprawling old banyan tree beside the village school building sheltered about 120+ kids, our volunteers, administrators and many guests for several hours. There were about 200+ painting done by the kids hung on a long rope surrounding the entire event venue. More..
Coming soon..
The Sirjan Chapter is located in the village of Barshi in Bankura. Rural, primarily tribal, kids study under a giant banyan tree beside the village school. The Bigyanusandhan Kendra is located at nearby Sirjan Khamar where kids learn science and develop scientific thinking through practical training.
Established in 2023, Sokaler Pathshala has the vision to introduce morning study among village students. Previously there was no study practice among most students outside schooling hours. At present 60 students are attending morning classes and 7 teacher volunteers. We hope to make studying their morning habit.
